Youth Hostels

You are planning a school trip or an outing with your sports club or the youth fire brigade? No problem!
Youth hostels are the perfect place to stay; more than four and a half million overnight stays booked by teaching personnel and pupils annually are proof of that. Today’s youth hostels have become modern service providers that place great emphasis on values such as guest comfort and individual service.

Teachers and other education staff readily agree that joint class activities, out of school in particular, are of enormous importance and have a very positive effect on social behaviour.

In cooperation with the German youth hostel association, DJH-Landesverband Nordmark e. V. Hamburg, we’ve compiled a list of the youth hostels located on the Baltic Sea coast and in the Holsteinische Schweiz, a beautiful lake district - all not far away from HANSA-PARK. Below each entry you’ll find the contact details you’ll need to make your booking. Each of the youth hostels presented has adventure tickets to HANSA-PARK available.

Tip: on your arrival day, the hostel wardens will be happy to give you tips on short trips worth taking and advise you on how best to organise the necessary transfers.

The hostel offers 260 beds in 5 houses and a huge area for playing games and doing all kinds of sports. The Baltic Sea is 4 km away and the hostel guests can enjoy the hostel’s own beach section. Direct ÖPNV public transport to HANSA-PARK is available. The youth hostel has 211 beds and is located on the northern edges of the historic old city within easy reach of all tourist sights and attractions.Deutsche Bahn, the German Federal Railway, offers direct links to HANSA-PARK. The youth hostel has 207 beds and is located right next to the big Lake Plön at the town exit, direction of Neumünster.

The youth hostel opened in 2006. It has 144 beds and is located directly on the cliffs of the Baltic Sea with its own beach access. It’s mostly coaches that go to HANSA-PARK, but you can also take public transport. Upon request, the hostel wardens will be happy to assist you to organise the outing. The youth hostel has 164 beds. It is located at the edge of town, adjacent to the big Lake Segeberg, not far from Mount Kalkberg with the open-air stage where the famous Karl May festival takes place in the summer. The youth hotel has 182 beds (of which 32 are in block huts) and is situated on the southern outskirts of the town of Burg, direction Südstrand. Groups can take Deutsche Bahn, the German Federal Railway, to get to HANSA-PARK. Alight at Sierksdorf and follow the signposted footpath. It only takes a few minutes to reach the park.

The youth hostel has 270 beds and is located on the eastern shore of the bay. From there you have a fantastic view of the maritime city of Kiel – especially so during the ‘Kieler Woche’ or Kiel Week, an annual sailing event which sees hundreds of sailing ships criss-cross the Kiel bay.
