Business Punk ranked about 20,000 businesses: HANSA-PARK is among the 173 top scorers and has been rated Top Company for Digital Talents

Business Punk, a business lifestyle magazine published by Gruner + Jahr, and the Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF) have developed a representative corporate reputation ranking system that assesses the digital maturity of employers.

Of the roughly 20,000 German businesses assessed only 173 companies scored top, achieving between 90 and 100 points.

One of them is HANSA-PARK, Germany’s only event and family theme park by the sea. This is an outstanding achievement, prompting Business Punk, a business lifestyle magazine, to award HANSA-PARK the title “Top Company for Digital Talents”.

For the survey the IMWF used web crawling to collect about 4.4 million entries by roughly 20,000 German companies. The data gathered on the internet from January 2018 to March 2019 form the basis of the corporate reputation ranking.

The companies were evaluated based on their general digital maturity. Three other employer rating criteria played a key role: hard facts, culture and benefits. Digital maturity made up 50% of the ranking; the other three criteria made up the remaining 50%.

Christoph Andreas Leicht, Managing Shareholder of HANSA-PARK, is very proud of the achievement, “In an age where people who do not have a smartphone are increasingly rare, companies are forced to digitalise their processes. We offer our guests free WiFi services in the Park as well as an interactive digital feedback system. Our employees are always up to date with our digital information board that displays the latest information. Their daily routines, too, are digitalised, for instance their daily safety inspections of the Park’s attractions. We are very happy that our continued commitment in this field has not gone unnoticed.”

Summer Flowers at HANSA-PARK - don’t miss the Sea of beautiful Blooms!

No summer flower season is the same - our gardeners show that time and again. The changes they have made this year are manifold and beautiful to look at. As befits our times, sustainability plays a big role and they have planted even more perennials that will bloom this year.

Our newly designed Enchanting Britain section features a completely new world of plants with over 100 rhododendrons, thousands of ferns, various types of moss and lots of ground cover plants. The walls of our Nessie Castle are covered by beautifully gnarled wine and in the courtyard, a castle garden with allium, cranesbills (geranium), lavender, peonies, bellflowers, lupins, hollyhocks, hydrangeas, various grasses and, of course, common ivy and clematis is being created. The colourful world of Enchanting Britain is reflected in our flower beds that feature our very own tartan in purple and green.

And then there’s our Flower Magic Boat Tour that comes along in the main colours of the Old-Time Fun Fair (blue/red/yellow and white) - a marvellous testament to our gardeners’ skills. Visitors to HANSA-PARK won’t know where to look first, the sea of flowers is so big, so beautiful that one visit will never be enough to take it all in.

The Old-Time Fun Fair comes alive with little olive trees, laurel, box trees, carnations, roses, guelder roses, allium, astilbes, lupins, hollyhocks and coral bells. Störtebeker's Sea Raid takes you into the Realms of the North where you’ll find a range of dwarf Siberian pines, blueberries and juniper.

In the Russian section you can marvel at astilbes, oxeye daisies, white bellflowers and guelder roses.

The list is endless and we could go on and on. What we actually want to say is: A visit to HANSA-PARK is worth it just for the summer flowers alone.

46 hectares filled with the best landscaping has to offer is certainly not something you’ll find just anywhere. Add on to that 37 ride attractions that include seven (!) roller coasters, four live shows, the high-rope garden - which is included in the entrance price, a staggering variety of food and drinks and, of course, the unique world of the Hanseatic League in Europe and you have umpteen reasons to visit HANSA-PARK during the brilliant summer flower period from July 1st through September 15th.

Claudia Leicht is the ambassador for hospice and palliative care in Schleswig-Holstein

Claudia Leicht is the ambassador for hospice and palliative care in Schleswig-Holstein

(Kiel/Sierksdorf) Claudia Leicht, member of the management board of Hansa-Park in Sierksdorf by the Baltic Sea, has become a volunteer for hospice and palliative care in Schleswig-Holstein. As an ambassador she will support the work of the association at the federal state level as well as several local hospices and palliative care facilities. Her name combined with her commitment enable Claudia Leicht to raise public awareness of end-of-life care for terminally ill and dying children, adolescents and adults and break down the taboos associated with loss, death and bereavement in society, business and politics.

“The fact that about 1,500 volunteers from Schleswig-Holstein help the professional staff at hospices, palliative wards and nursing care homes every day thus contributing to increased solidarity and compassion gives me hope. I am delighted to support the work of hospices and palliative care facilities. In our times of rapid medical progress, it is particularly important to remember that although it is honourable and our duty to save lives, progress does not replace a caring hand and an empathic heart that provide emotional and spiritual support at the end of a person’s life. Everyone in need should have that,” says Claudia Leicht. She has been looking for a cause worthy of her support for quite some time. When Claudia Ohlsen, Director of the State Co-ordination Office, asked her whether she could imagine supporting their hospice and palliative care programme, she didn’t have to think twice. Having personally experienced death, loss and grief more than once, she is aware of what it means to provide hospice and palliative care and the difference it makes.

Roland Repp, Chairman of the Schleswig-Holstein Hospice and Palliative Care Association, medical palliative care specialist and Director of the 2nd Medical Clinic of the municipal hospital in Kiel, is delighted about the commitment of the new ambassador. “Claudia Leicht is a wonderful person whose name lends credibility and authenticity to hospice and palliative care. She shows solidarity for terminally ill and dying people as well as their loved ones. It is great that she wants to use her name and contacts to raise public awareness and support us, and thus the work of the many people - both volunteers and professional staff - who provide outpatient and hospital hospice care.”

On the occasion of a small celebration at the municipal hospital in Kiel Claudia Leicht was presented with an ambassador certificate awarded by the management board of the Hospiz- und Palliativverband Schleswig-Holstein e.V. (Schleswig-Holstein Hospice and Palliative Care Association - HPVSH) - Roland Repp, Michael Busch and Richard Münchmeier - and Claudia Ohlsen, Director of the State Co-ordination Office of Schleswig-Holstein Hospice and Palliative Care (LKS).

Hurrah, it’s HANSA-PARK time! April 04 sees the start of the year of the HIGHLANDER!

On 04 April 2019 HANSA-PARK, Germany’s only event and family theme park by the sea, opens its doors to the new season. Preparations throughout the Park are in full swing.

Hansa & high tech: You are unlikely to find any German theme park that is better at building bridges spanning bygone and modern eras than HANSA-PARK.

The replicas of the tower of KÄRNAN and its castle as well as the Kremlin of Novgorod let guests cross those bridges and experience the combination of Hansa & high tech in person. All three buildings house ultra-modern high-tech roller coasters - The Oath of KÄRNAN, the hypercoaster with a reverse free fall that is unique worldwide - and the Curse of Novgorod - a launch coaster that goes 0-100km/h in 1.4 seconds.

In the 2019 season our guests can once again look forward to a whole range of new attractions:

NEW - HIGHLANDER
Official launch in the upcoming season.

The new, free-standing free-fall tower by the sea is set to break all records in Germany, on the whole continent and the whole planet

  • Tallest and fastest gyro drop ride in the world; drop from 120m with a top falling speed of 120 km/h
  • A free-fall height of 103m – there is no other gyro drop tower in the world that features a drop from that height
  • Highest free-fall tower in the world with tiltable seats

The HIGHLANDER will feature prominently in our new themed area “Enchanting Britain” that is being built around it and NESSIE, our cult roller coaster. The themed area will take guests into the world of Scotland. The theme world will be completed over the next years.

NEW - Laser and Special Effect Show 2019
After a one-year break, on the request of many of our guests, a new Laser and Special Effect Show is back in 2019. For the first time in the history of the show at HANSA-PARK we will feature graphic and musical elements from the Park itself. In other words, the show will directly relate to attractions in the Park. We are very excited to see how our creative heads will make a show out of that…

NEW - Variety Show:
New top artistic performances continue the 35-year tradition at North Germany’s biggest variety theatre.

NEW: Storks 4D Experience® at the Cinema Fantastico

DanCenter survey revealed: HANSA-PARK is the Best Holiday Attraction in North Germany 2019 in the Amusement Park category

DanCenter, the leading holiday home rental company in Scandinavia, advertises some 10,000 attractive properties in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany.

At the beginning of 2019 DanCenter asked its customers to vote for the best holiday attraction 2019 in Denmark and North Germany.

At 4.14 out of 5 points, HANSA-PARK as Germany’s only event and family theme park by the sea claimed the top spot in the Amusement Park category. This makes HANSA-PARK one of the Best Holiday Attractions in North Germany 2019. Other categories voted on were, e.g., Best Animal Park & Zoo, Best Museum and Best Aquarium.

“We have been awarded the rating based on the views of Danish guests, which makes us very happy. We highly value our guests’ opinion, and getting top marks from them is the highest praise we can receive. This season we will further enhance our attraction portfolio with a new ride named HIGHLANDER. Many guests told HANSA-PARK they hoped for a free-fall tower at the Park. Their wish will soon come true: a 120m-tall gyro drop tower with a free-fall height of 103m and a top falling speed of 120km/h will be launched in the upcoming season. HIGHLANDER will be the tallest and fastest gyro drop tower in the world and on top will feature tiltable seats,” says Christoph Andreas Leicht, managing shareholder of HANSA-PARK.
