Groningen

Groningen joined the Hanseatic League in the 14th century. Today the Dutch city of Groningen is teeming with life and traces of a great past. Hanseatic traditions are still kept alive at Hanze-Huis, for example. The shop offers many products that the Hanseatic League used to import.

Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum at Brugstraat 24

The museum consists of two buildings - the Gothic House and the Canterhuis - that date back to the 14th century. Over the years the two buildings have been subject to a lot of changes, which explains why they feature elements of different architectural styles. Currently the building houses the collection of the maritime museum.
